Making a gift tag by Kat Hazelton.

Tags are great not only for putting on gifts but are now regarded as pieces of artwork in their own right.
They make beautiful hanging decorations, card front and additions to scrapbooks.

Making a gift tag

Here is a really simple gift tag tutorial using cardboard from Amazon packaging. You can use any cardboard for tag making but it's a great way to reuse packaging and cheaper too!
I used a die cutter and a Sizzix machine to cut my basic tag shapes but if you don't have these you can draw a shape using pencil and a ruler and then cut out with scissors. Create a hole with a hole punch or create a hole with an awl. Please make sure an adult does this part if making tags with younger children.

Create your own background papers with paints and inks or use preprinted paper or wrapping paper.

You can decorate your tags with die cut shapes, *fussy cut images from magazines.

*Fussy cutting is cutting with scissors ✂️
